Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS AMT now available in Asta trim

As per reports, Hyundai will now be offering Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) gearbox on top-of-the-line petrol trims of its recently launched BS6 compliant Santro and Grand i10 NIOS cars. The AMT option was earlier offered only in Magna and Sportz variants. Increasing customer demand has pushed Hyundai to offer AMT gearbox to its top-spec so as to make the deal even more attractive for its prospective buyers.

Santro is offered in a BS6 compliant 1.1-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine capable of producing 68 BHP of power at 5,500 rpm and 99 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. The car is also offered in a bi-fuel variant which consumes petrol and CNG. The CNG variant, however, offers 58 BHP of power at 5,500 rpm and 84 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. The petrol mill is mated to 5-speed MT and AMT gearbox while the CNG variant is offered only in MT gearbox.

Likewise, the NIOS is offered in three engine variants, a 1.2 L 4-cylinder BS-VI Kappa petrol engine capable of producing power of 83 PS at 6000 RPM and 114 Nm torque at 4000 RPM. It is also offered in a 1.2 L U2 3-cylinder Diesel Mill capable of producing 75 PS of peak power at 4000 RPM and can generate a peak torque of 190 Nm.

In addition to this, Grand i10 NIOS is also offered in the latest 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol mill tuned to produce 100 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 172 Nm of torque at 1,500-4,000 rpm. The petrol & diesel mill is offered in 5-speed MT & AMT options while the turbo petrol is offered only in a 5-speed MT option.
