Mahindra Thar bookings cross 20,000 mark; waiting period over 6 months

After registering record bookings of All-New Thar by 9,000 units within days of its launch, Mahindra has now announced that the bookings of second-gen Thar have crossed the 20,000 mark. The immense popularity of the 4×4 SUV has now resulted in a waiting period of 5-7 months depending on the model.

Petrol and Diesel variants of the Hard Top Automatic and Manual variants are said to be in high demand. Mahindra is now manufacturing all-new Thar from its Nashik plant. The automaker has announced that for Thar it had allotted a capacity of 2,000 units per month.

With spur in demand, the automaker is now mulling to increase the capacity to 3000 units per month by January 2021. Mahindra is also in talks with its suppliers to ensure a steady supply of components and spares for manufacturing Thar.

Mahindra has already begun deliveries of all-new Thar. It plans to deliver 500+ cars across India by this weekend.
