Volvo India is preparing to enhance its electric vehicle offerings within the nation. The renowned Swedish automaker has officially announced the introduction of its flagship all-electric SUV, the EX90, to the Indian market in 2025. It will be available for purchase alongside its entry-level counterpart, the EX30.
Presently, Volvo has two electric models available for purchase: the XC40 Recharge and the C40 Recharge. Regarding the upcoming electric SUVs, the EX90, boasting a seven-seater configuration, made its global debut in 2022. The top-tier variant of the EX90 features a robust 111kWh battery pack, offering an estimated range of 600km on a single charge. Power is transmitted to two electric motors situated on each axle, generating an impressive output of up to 500bhp and 900Nm of torque.
In contrast, the EX30, positioned as the entry-level model, will be equipped with a 69kWh battery pack coupled with a twin motor setup. Under this configuration, the EX30 promises a claimed range of up to 474km on a full charge.
In additional updates, Volvo has decided to rename its EV lineup on a global scale. The XC40 Recharge and the C40 Recharge will now be referred to as the EX40 and EC40, respectively. Furthermore, the power output for both models has been enhanced to 436bhp, reflecting Volvo’s commitment to innovation and performance in the electric vehicle segment.
