India’s highest selling car :1.2 Lakh Maruti Suzuki Dzires sold in 8 months of 2019

Maruti Suzuki Dzire

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has become India’s highest-selling car, with 1.2 lakh cars sold this year

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is setting some impressive records this year. Firstly, since its launch back in 2009, Maruti has shifted 2 million Dzire’s to Indian roads. That is 2 lakh cars a year. Secondly, this year, from April to November, MS has sold over 1.2 lakh Dzires making it India’s highest-selling car. The latter is a very impressive record because the Indian automotive industry has gone through the worst phase in the last 20 years. Maruti Suzuki itself registered negative sales percentages, which is very unusual for the automaker.

Speaking on the success of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director, (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited said “Over years, Dzire has created a niche for itself amongst compact sedans. Gaining widespread acceptance, Dzire was conceptualized keeping in mind the customer demands. Currently, more than 70% Dzire customers are pre-determined buyers who wish to upgrade to ‘the sedan life’. Further, nearly half of the Dzire customers have it as their first car. We are extremely grateful to our customers for their tremendous trust in brand Dzire. This trust has helped Dzire to become the country’s highest-selling car in this fiscal year.

Awkwardly for us, we haven’t driven a Dzire yet. Sure, we have been ferried around in one. Of course, we’d like that to change. Will you lend us one, Maruti Suzuki?

Watch this space to read for when they lend us the highest selling car of this fiscal year.

An utter car guy, he’s the guy on the keyboard. Driver’s seat is his place for solace. Apart from talking cars and driving, Kedar also spends a fortune on die-cast miniatures of them, especially old American Muscle. He loves to understand his ride fully and once he does, he loves to explore its limits. American Hotrodder David Freighburger is his icon, while he dreams to daily drive a 68′ Dodge Charger some day.
