2020 Ford Endeavour: BSVI compliant Ford Endeavour launched

2020 Ford Endeavour

Ford India Has launched the 2020 Ford Endeavour in India, at an introductory price of Rs. 29.55 lakh. The old 3.2 litre 5-cylinder engine and the 2.2 litre 4 cylinder engine have been axed.

What’s New?

The new Endeavour gets a BSVI compliant 2.0 Litre EcoBlue diesel engine, making 170PS of power and 420 Nm of torque. Ford says the new engine is 14% more fuel-efficient than the outgoing model. Though the claimed power figures are less than what the old 3.2L 5 cylinder engine made, there is an increase when compared to the old 2.2-litre engine made. The smaller 2.2-litre engine made 162PS power and 387Nm of torque.

Now, what makes the new engine innovative is the 10mm offset crankshaft which lessens the piston side-load, thus reducing friction against the cylinder walls. The new engine is also 4 4 decibels quieter at idle. The camshaft and the oil pump drive belts now have a belt-in-oil design which increases efficiency while having a quieter, smoother operation.

The new engine is paired to a 10-Speed automatic gearbox, which is a first in India. To aid driving in tough conditions, the Endeavour gets the Progressive Range Select technology. This helps the driver to lock the gears in a desired range while driving through tricky conditions like slippery surfaces.

New Tech

The new Endeavour also gets a new headlamp cluster which provides 20% more light penetration. Ford has introduced the FordPass connectivity technology in the 2020 Endeavour. This technology gives the user remote functionality to various key features. It remotely gives access to control the in-cabin temperature. It also provides information like fuel status, distance to empty to name a few.

Variants and Price

The New Endeavour carries a special introductory Price tag of Rs. 29.55 Lakh, ex-showroom. The price is a limited period offer until 30Th April 2020. The prices will be increased by Rs. 70,000 starting from 1st May 2020.

The 2020 Ford Endeavour is offered in three variants. The base model is the 2.0 Titanium 4X2 At, priced at Rs.29.55 lakh. The Titanium+ 4X2 AT sits a notch up, priced at Rs. 31.55 lakh. The top of the line variant, Titanium+ 4X4 AT is priced at Rs.33.25 lakh.
