Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike – Top 5 highlights

Bajaj Auto has recently introduced the Freedom 125 CNG bike, quickly becoming the buzz of the town. This groundbreaking bike is not only Bajaj’s latest innovation but also the world’s first mass-production CNG two-wheeler. If you’re considering purchasing this eco-friendly commuter, here are some key details you should know.

Compact and Youthful Design

The Freedom 125 CNG sports a sleek and youthful commuter-style design with compact proportions. This 125cc motorcycle features a straightforward build, including a round headlight (LED for the top and mid-spec models, and a bulb for the base model), a long single-piece seat, and an upright rider triangle, making it perfect for daily commutes.

Modern Features

Bajaj has equipped the Freedom 125 with various features to cater to different preferences. The Disc LED and Drum LED models come with LED illumination, while the base trim uses a halogen bulb. The Disc LED variant also boasts a reverse LCD with smartphone connectivity, whereas the other models have an LCD without connectivity features. All variants include CBS (Combined Braking System) for added safety and a convenient switch to toggle between petrol and CNG.

Efficient Engine

The Freedom 125 is powered by a 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 9.37bhp at 8,000rpm and 9.7Nm of torque at 5,000rpm, paired with a five-speed gearbox. Bajaj claims that with its 2-litre petrol tank and 2kg CNG cylinder, the bike can cover approximately 330km on a single run. A real-world test will be conducted soon to verify this impressive range.

Reliable Hardware

The bike’s hardware setup includes conventional telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear. It features 17-inch front and 16-inch rear wheels across all variants. The base model is fitted with 80/90 front and 80/100 rear tires, while the Disc LED and Drum LED variants come with 90/80 front and 120/70 rear tires. The top-spec model has a front disc and rear drum brake setup, while the other models use drum brakes at both ends.

Variants and Pricing

The Bajaj Freedom 125 is available in three variants: the Drum model priced at Rs. 95,000, the Drum LED model at Rs. 1.05 lakh, and the top-spec Disc LED model at Rs. 1.10 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).

With its blend of eco-friendliness, practicality, and modern features, the Freedom 125 CNG bike is set to revolutionize the commuter segment.
