Ford launches EcoSport with a manual transmission in the top of the line Titanium+ variant; Priced at Rs.10.47 lakh

Ford has launched the EcoSport in its top of the line Titanium+ variant with the naturally aspirated 1.5L three cylinder Ti-VCT petrol engine paired to a MANUAL TRANSMISSION. The reason for such a heavy stress on manual transmission because that was on the demand of petrol heads.

In a day and age where manual transmission-ed models are launched first and then come the automatics like a cheered hero to the story (sadly), Ford initially brought in the EcoSport with an automatic at first. But on the demand of consumers, they gave it 3 pedals and a stick shift. This shows that Ford hasn’t given up on making fun to drive cars for the sake of sales figures. Kudos to them!

The Titanium+ variant features bigger 17-inch alloy wheels for enhanced driving capabilities, better road grip and offers six-airbags to ensure all around safety of occupants.

“Since new Ford EcoSport was introduced, our customers have been demanding a top-of-the-line Titanium+ petrol manual variant, offering enhanced safety with six airbags,” said Rahul Gautam, vice president marketing at Ford India. “In our commitment to meet customer demands, we are pleased to introduce this variant and offer a greater choice to our customers.”

The 1.5L 3-cyl petrol that Ford introduced last year with the launch of the EcoSport makes 123PS of power and 150NM of torque. Claimed fuel efficiency is 17 km/l while also, a 7% reduction in CO2 emmisions.

The EcoSport is a high selling model for Ford India. Extremely fun to drive, youthful looks, good fuel economy and easy on pocket are the reasons why it sells in such high numbers. The EcoSport is rivalled by the Tata Nexon and Mahindra TUV300.

An utter car guy, he’s the guy on the keyboard. Driver’s seat is his place for solace. Apart from talking cars and driving, Kedar also spends a fortune on die-cast miniatures of them, especially old American Muscle. He loves to understand his ride fully and once he does, he loves to explore its limits. American Hotrodder David Freighburger is his icon, while he dreams to daily drive a 68′ Dodge Charger some day.
