Mahindra eKUV100 to be lunched by March 2021

After revealing Mahindra eKUV100 at Rs. 8.25 lakh; offers 147km range during the Auto Expo 2020, Mahindra is now all set to launch the same in coming months. At the launch event of Mahindra Treo Zor electric three-wheeler, Dr. Pawan Goenka, Managing Director of Mahindra said that the company would launch eKUV100 in the next three months.

The eKUV100 would mainly be offered to fleet operators and would be sold to private buyers as well. With a range of 147kms and price tag of Rs. 8.25 lakhs, the EV would be an ideal city commute vehicle. Looks-wise, both petrol and EV variants look alike.

Minor changes include a closed-off radiator grille with silver inserts, dual-tone bumpers, the car comes with charging port located at passenger side front fender. Mahindra has used blue elements in the car that distinguish it from the ICE variant.

Powering the Mahindra eKUV100 is a 40 kW electric motor that can produce 53 bhp and 120 Nm of torque. The car is powered by a 15.9 kWh lithium-ion battery which returns a range of 147 km. It takes 5 hours 45 mins to charge the battery from 0 to 100% using a regular charger while, with a fast charger, the battery can be juiced up to 80% in just 55 mins.

The eKUV 100 may not the powerful eSUV but is definitely one of the most affordable one and should be able to just enough for daily commutes owing to lower cost of ownership.
