Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the refreshed AMG E 53, boasting a revamped appearance and an additional powertrain alternative. Available in sedan and estate configurations, the AMG E 53 will premiere globally before its anticipated launch in India later this year.

Underneath the hood of the Mercedes AMG E 53 lies a potent 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six gasoline engine paired with an electric motor. This dynamic powertrain combination generates a combined output of 593bhp and 750Nm of torque, channelled through a nine-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels via the renowned 4Matic system. Accelerating from 0-100kmph in a mere 3.9 seconds, the model achieves an impressive top speed of 280kmph, further enhanced by its race start function that boosts power to 602bhp and peak torque to 750Nm.

In terms of battery capacity, the AMG E 53 is equipped with a 28.6kWh battery pack, with 21.2kWh accessible for daily driving, offering an electric-only range of up to 97km. Standard features include an 11kW charger, with an optional 60kW DC fast charger available, reducing charging time from 0-80% to approximately 20 minutes.

Sporting a more aggressive design, the AMG E 53 boasts distinctive elements such as a blacked-out grille with AMG badging, prominent air dams, and redesigned LED headlamps. Noteworthy exterior updates include a black rear diffuser, optional 21-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers, dual tailpipe trims, and widened wheel arches.

Inside the cabin, the AMG E 53 impresses with a 14.4-inch infotainment screen featuring mobile connectivity, MBUX superscreen layout, handcrafted leather seat upholstery with red stitching, an AMG performance steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather, AMG sports seats, and an optional passenger screen, elevating the driving experience to new heights of luxury and performance.
