Want a Volkswagen Taigun facelift? This could be the car you are waiting for

If you’re eagerly anticipating the facelift of the Volkswagen Taigun, the updated Volkswagen T-Cross in Brazil might give you a glimpse of what’s to come. Slated for a 2025 release, here’s an overview of the anticipated changes and updates.

Design Changes and Feature Enhancements

Externally, the new T-Cross maintains its overall shape but introduces some notable updates. The taillamps have been revised, and there’s a fresh design for the alloy wheels. The most significant changes, however, are inside the vehicle. The interior boasts a completely new dashboard design, inspired by Volkswagen’s other global models. While the Brazilian market version features an all-black color scheme, the Indian market is expected to retain the black and beige scheme with silver inserts.

A major highlight is the introduction of a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen system equipped with a new operating system. The seats have also been redesigned, featuring ‘T-Cross’ embossed on the seat backs, adding a touch of sophistication.

In Brazil, the updated T-Cross comes with advanced driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a blind spot monitor. However, for the upcoming Taigun facelift, we anticipate only the blind spot monitor to be offered, as Volkswagen has not yet announced plans to introduce ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) in India.

India-Spec Engine Options and Competition

The India-spec Taigun is expected to continue with the current 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine options. These engines are paired with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, with the 1.0-litre engine also offering a six-speed torque converter automatic, and the 1.5-litre engine featuring a seven-speed DSG.

The Volkswagen Taigun competes with popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, and the Honda Elevate. With these anticipated updates, the Taigun aims to strengthen its position in the competitive mid-size SUV market.

As we await further announcements and official specifications, the 2025 facelift of the Volkswagen Taigun promises to bring exciting enhancements both inside and out, making it a strong contender in its segment.
