Flying car PAL-V to be built in Gujarat, MoU inked

Dutch flying car maker PAL-V and Government of Gujarat have entered into an MoU under which the dutch automaker has agreed to manufacture PAL-V (Personal Air-Land Vehicle) at their factory in Gujarat. The facility is expected to be functional by 2021.

The MoU was inked between Honourable Gujarat Chief Minister, Shri Vijay Rupani, Industries Principal Secretary, Shri MK Das and Mr. Carlo Maasbommel, vice president of international business development for, PAL-V.

The Netherland based automaker has built the world’s first production-ready flying car, PAL-V Liberty. The car first introduced in 2018 during the Geneva Motor Show is a perfect example of a compact hybrid land-air vehicle. The automaker is said to have received orders for 110 flying cars, each of the car is expected to come with a staggering price tag of $599000 (Rs. 4.4 Cr).

The manufacturer has chosen Gujrath for setting up its plant owing to its world class infrastructure, suitable government policies, ease of doing business, better port with good logistic facilities. The India facility will act as a hub for exporting PAL-V’s futuristic flying cars to countries such as the United States and European nations, etc.

The flying car is made up of state of the art technologies which can convert a normal car to fly in under three minutes. The car is capable of attaining a top speed of 160kmph on road and can fly at a speed of 180kmph, likewise, it can return a range of 500 km on a full tank.
