The Hyundai Creta has been a grossing compact SUV in its price segment for the last two years while Renault, the parent company of Captur and Duster has excelled with its Duster model in Indian markets since the beginning of its launch. 

Both the cars come in a nearly same price segment. The top model of Hyundai Creta is priced at around INR 13.47  lacs which is SX 1.6 AT  Petrol while that of Captur will cost INR 11.91 lac For the RXT Petrol variant. (The comparison is based on top variants of both the cars)

Engine and transmission 

Displacement of Renault Captur is 1498 cc while that of Creta is 1591cc. Both the cars are avialable in Petrol as well as Deisel options. The Max power produced is 122bhp @ 6400rpm and 105bhp @ 5000 rpm in Creat and Hyundai respectively while the max torque is 151 Nm @ 4850 rpm and 142 Nm @ 4000 rpm respectively.

Talking about fuel economy, Creta has a better edge over Captur as the mileage of Creta is 15.30 kmpl and that of Captur is 13.87 kmpl. There is no alternate fuel option in both cars.

Transmission given in Creta is automatic as well as manual with 6 speed for both the variants. Alas, there is no automatic version of Captur available right now and also 5 speed manual transmission is a demerit for its buyers. Both the cars are FWD types.

Safety and features 

In terms of safety, Both the competitors are edge to edge as both of them give 2 airbags, ABS, speed sensing door lock and EBD. To compensate Creta’s Traction Control System, Captur is equipped with Brake assist otherwise, all the safety features are nearly same for both the cars.

Other comfort and convenience features such as automatic climate control, Rear AC vents, 2 12V power outlets, tilt steering adjustment, keyless start/stop button, rear parking sensors, reverse camera with guidance and fabric seats are some mutual feature of Creta and Captur.

While Creta’s top models also get leather-wrapped steering, leather wrapped gear knob, driver seat with height adjustment, dual tone interiors front adjustable headrest and rear door pockets which are absent in Renault Captur.

But Captur also has some cool features which are not seen in any Creat models and these features are Remote boot lid opener, body kit, automatic headlamps, and voice command feature.
