XUV500 vs Innova Crysta

Both the cars are well popular in the Indian market for the 7-seater SUV category. The price range for both the cars is nearly the same. Innova Crysta has a little expensive price tag compared to XUV 500.

Mahindra XUV 500 comes in 12 variants out of which only one is a petrol variant while Innova  Crysta gives customers the option of 18 car variants out of which eight have the petrol engine. The Showroom price of Innova Crysta starts from INR 13.05 lakhs to 22.31 Lakhs depending on which version you select. The same for XUV 500 is INR 12.31 lakhs to INR 19 lakhs.The XUV500 is installed with the mHawk engine having the engine displacement of 2179cc producing 155bhp@3750 rpm and max torque capacity of 360Nm@1750-2800 rpm. For diesel engine. The same Diesel variants of Innova Crysta have GD-FTV type engine producing 172bhp@3400 rpm, the max torque capacity is same 360Nm@1200-3400 rpm but this comes with a more engine displacement which is 2755 cc.

The petrol running variants of Innova Crysta has 2-TR-FE dual VVTi type engine producing up to 164bhp@5200 rpm having max torque capacity and engine displacement 245Nm@4000 rpm and 2694cc respectively. The only Petrol variant of XUV 500 G AT has 2.2-litre mHawk petrol engine having max power and torque 140bhp@4500 rpm and 320Nm@2000-3000 rpm respectively.

All the variants of Innova Crysta are RWD while XUV500 W11 option and W11 option AT are AWD, remaining all are FWD. Out of 12, 6 variants of XUV have 6-speed automatic transmission and other have 6-speed manual transmission. Similarly, Innova Crysta has 8 automatic transmission option meshed with 6 speed but the manual transmission cars have 5 gears.

The brakes given in XUV 500 are ventilated disc and disc for front and rear respectively. Innova Crysta has disc brakes for the only front wheel while the rear one gets drum brake. The rear suspension of XUV500 and Innova is mac Pherson strut and double wishbone and torsion bar respectively while the front suspension is a multi-link type with anti-roll bar and 4 links respectively. The interior,  exterior and safety features of both cars vary from model to model.
