Having same price bracket and nearly similar specification, Honda Amaze and Maruti Suzuki Dzire are competitive rivals to each other
General specification
There is a total of 14 variants of Dzire and 12 of Amaze. The top variant price of Dzire that is ZDI plus is around 8.96 lakhs(Ex-showroom price) and the same for Amaze is around 9.0 lakhs which is titled as V CVT(diesel).
In terms of transmission Amaze has a better notch over Dzire as it gives Automatic transmission in its Diesel top variant for an almost same price as Dzire’s Diesel top variant. While both the car provides the automatic transmission for the Top model of petrol variant.
Also, Amaze engine displacement is 1498 cc while it is only 1248 cc in Dzire. But Dzire wins the mileage factor as its Deisel variant gives 28.4 kmpl while Amaze Fuel economy is 23.8 kmpl. Even for petrol variants, Amaze has only 19 kmpl mileage which is less compared to Dzire’s 22 kmpl.
Engine specification
The top diesel variant of Amaze can produce max power 78.9 bhp@3600 rpm and 160 Nm @1750rpm torque while Dzire can make 73.75 bhp @4000 rpm and has a max torque of 190 Nm@2000 rpm for its Diesel model. The engine displacement for Amaze(Diesel) is 1498 cc and for Dzire(diesel) it is 1248 c
Talking about petrol Variants for both cars, Amaze max power capacity is limited to 88.76 bhp@6000 rpm and max torque of 110 Nm@ 4800 rpm. But Dzire can produce 81.80 bhp@6000 rpm and has a max torque of 113 Nm@ 4200 rpm. The engine displacement for Dzire(Petrol) is 1197 cc and of Amaze(Petrol) it is 1199 cc.
Fuel tank capacity of Dzire is 37 liter compared to Amaze’s 35 liters.
Transmission and steering
Both the cars are FWD for all variants and 5-speed gearbox for both automatic as well as manual transmission. The steering specification of both the cars are same which are tilt and collapsible, rack and pinion type steering
Brake and safety
Rear brakes in both the car are drum type while it is ventilated dis type front brake in Dzire and drum brake in Amaze
Brake assist is absent in Amaze along with automatic headlamps, follow me home headlamps, anti-pinch power window (considering top variant) while the same is present in Dzire wop variant.
