Mercedes-Benz unveiled its new brand ‘EQ’ for electric mobility at the Paris motor show. Here EQ stands for ‘electric intelligence’.
The new brand encompasses comprehensive electric mobility ecosystem of products, services, technologies, and innovations. The brand will also be focusing on product range from charging services to home storage units.
The first EQ series model will be an SUV which Mercedes claimed to be launched by the end of this decade and the vehicle will be dubbed as concept EQ.
The Concept EQ was showcased at Paris motor show. The design looks quite like a sporty SUV coupe with observable electro-look. The EV will be driven by two electric motors with enhanced output up to 300 kW. The permanent all-wheel-drive system ensures the dynamic performance of remarkable new Mercedes-Benz. Range up to 500 km sustains the competition of other EVs in the market in terms of feasibility and comfort of the electric car. The interior of the Concept EQ is refurbished quite a lot from the Mercedes-Benz’s non-EQ products.

Connected, autonomous, shared, electric are four foundation pillars of the newly introduced EQ brand. “The emission-free autonomous is the future. Under EQ, electric vehicles will be based on completely new architectures developed specifically for electric models which can be used across all models in every respect.
