New Mercedes-Benz E-Class spotted in India; to be launched soon?

Mercedes-Benz unveiled the sixth-generation E-Class in April last year. The carmaker is set to introduce the Long Wheelbase (LWB) version of this next-gen sedan in the Indian market by the end of the current calendar year.

In anticipation of its price reveal, the 2024 E-Class has been spotted completely undisguised at what appears to be the Mercedes-Benz factory in Chakan, Pune. Two units, one black and one silver, were seen parked in a yard.

Design-wise, the new E-Class features a fresh single-slat grille with chrome surround and inserts, redesigned front and rear bumpers, larger LED headlamps and taillights, flush-fitting door handles, and dual-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, the new-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class is outfitted with the MBUX Superscreen, Level 4 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), dual-tone upholstery, active ambient lighting, four-zone climate control, and a Burmester-sourced music system.

Globally, the sixth-gen E-Class is available with six powertrain options. For the Indian market, the car is likely to come with 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engines paired with a mild-hybrid system. Upon launch, this luxury sedan will compete with the BMW 5 Series and the Audi A6.
