Renault launches new Duster with BS6-compliant petrol

Renault

Renault India has silently unveiled the prices of the BS6 compliant Duster. The 2020 Duster will be offered in all-new BS6 compliant petrol powertrain in 3 variants i.e. RXE, RXS, and RXZ at an ex-showroom price tag of Rs. 8.49 lakh, Rs. 9.29 lakh, and Rs. 9.99 lakh respectively.

The prices of the BS6 compliant mill have been dearer by about Rs. 50,000 for the base variant. The automaker will not be offering Duster SUV in diesel powertrain currently. The other technical specifications and features are expected to remain the same as that of the recently updated model, the only change would be in the powertrain department.

The all-new Duster could be offered with a BS6 1.5-litre H4K four-cylinder petrol engine that could churn 105bhp of power and 142Nm of torque. It is not sure Renault will be offering Duster in 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol mill of 153bhp/250Nm configuration as showcased during the AutoExpo 2020.

With the absence of diesel powertrain, it will be interesting to know how the market would accept the SUV as most of the SUVs are preferred for the torque that they produce in their diesel avatar. Also, a petrol mill may result in lower fuel-efficiency as compared to the diesel mill.
