The Suzuki Jimny is finally coming to India

The Suzuki Jimny is an underdog off-road SUV which is finally coming to India after decades in the form of new generation. Jimny is the cheap version of Mercedes Benz G-class and also looks quite similar to it. 

Design 

The exterior design of the Jimny quite resembles the Mercedes-Benz’s G-class car. It has adopted the similar boxy design with ball-like round headlights and a grille divided into five slots. The car gets a black colored front bumper imbibed with the round foglamps on both the sides. Also, the ORVMs and the roof is seen of the same black color.

Interior

The interior is completely black from the dashboard to seats. Considering interior features, the small SUV is packed with all the current trending equipment present in the same price segment car. On the dashboard, The center has large smartPlay infotainment system with the air vents similar to that if Suzuki Ignis. Along with automatic climate control, other features such as keyless entry, engine start/stop button, automatic headlamps can be acquired in the top model.

Engine and Transmission

There would be two engine variants, the mini version will be powered by  0.66 liters 3-cylinder turbocharged engine and the Sierra version will have a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine and around 100bhp power is produced

Both the engines are paired with either 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Also, an allgrip pro 4×4 system will drive the car for a great off-road driving experience.

Dimensions and other 

The dimension of mini would be 3,300 mm long, 1,475 mm wide and 1,715 mm height while the Sierra is 300 mm longer and due to its flared wheel arches, it is 125 mm wide.

The expected launch date for Jimny in India is mid-2019 with the expected price tag of INR 800,000.
